Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum "Earth from Space" Visiting Exhibit
2nd Quarter of 2018, in collaboration with Delaware Humanities, Earth from Space is 20-poster exhibition displaying large color reproductions of images captured by high-tech satellites constantly circling the globe, recording conditions and events that are nearly impossible to document on the planet’s surface.
In conjunction with our "spacey" theme, Mr Noel Justice organized two youth oriented events. In one workshop students painted a view of the earth as it would be seen by a probe out beyond the moon. In another workshop students assembled and personalized model rockets. 33% of the launched rockets were recovered. The Museum showed "E.T. The Extraterrestrial" during our Movie at the Museum |

journey stories october thru november 2018
Smithsonian Exhibit provided by the Delaware Humanities Forum. Our nation's history is a patchwork of many stories, woven from the voyages of people who traveled to build new lives.
Guest speaker was Dr. Linda De Roche, a Professor of English and American Studies at Wesley College in Dover. On October 14th, her presentation, "Wayward Women Travelers", examined the travels of a number of unconventional women who defied stereotypical gender roles and expectations to travel boldly into lands and cultures, some quite hostile to women, to experience for themselves the challenges and the appeal of the foreign and exotic. In November the Museum offered a children's movie, "An American Tale: Fievel Goes West" |
