my WISHLIST: Improvements, Goals, Ideas
a museum laptop for the organization/cataloging of artifacts
It has been highly recommended that the Museum utilize PastPerfect v5 software to manage inventory. The requirements of this software have led to a laptop costing about $1000.
Outdoor pavilion
OPINION: I would like to see an attractive structure that would be suitable for weddings, birthdays, parties, targeting smaller groups (we don't have the resources to compete with the established local fire-halls) maybe 40-80 persons. This structure would be openly available to our guests, but I could imagine a reservation fee that would grant exclusive usage time (this at a cost far under what a large hall would cost). The structure could be used in conjunction with our WorkShops, on a daily basis for picnics or school groups, or something with a craft show.
outdoor restroom facility
OPINION: I think more people would use the Museum grounds, but for the fact that there are no bathroom facilities normally available. I don't think I would be truly enthused about taking kids to the playground with dog for the grill - and having to run home (or into the woods......poison ivy YIKES).
I'm thinking a small building with 3-4 individual use unisex bathrooms.

outdoor water fountain
OPINION: it would be nice to have a drinking fountain near the playground. Looking around I found one that provided a drinking fountain combined with a bottle filling station, listed for about $1000. I'm not sure why, maybe there is a refrigeration unit? we wouldn't need that probably.
Bicycle rack
OPINION: A bicycle rack would be nice to have at the front of the Museum. Because of costs, I'd be happy with a donated old schoolhouse style - but it would be cool if a local metal artist could construct one with a nautical theme.
building expansion
OPINION: in order to grow (and this balances against benefit to the community) we need to expand our facility. The Museum lot is about 3.3acres. By doubling our building size we would be able to maintain our exhibits and at the same time have an area designated for indoor events, visiting exhibits, and storage.
